Welcome!

A great way to see and learn about the sport of sled dog racing and becoming involved in the spirit of community is by becoming a race volunteer!
The Cascade Quest could not happen without our volunteers.
We have volunteer opportunities for everyone.

Team Handler - Help mushers harness their teams and bring teams to the starting line - bring your love of dogs, strong arm, sure footing and sense of humor!

Checkpoint Assistant - Assist race timer and checkpoint boss log teams in and out of checkpoints, directs teams to designated camp areas - may involve very late nights and very early mornings!

Snowmobile Trail Crew - Crews man trail intersections and communicate team positions back to race headquarters, provide information to recreational snowmobilers sharing the trails with the dog teams.  Our trail crews provide the eyes and ears of the race.  Crews work under the direction of the snowmobile crew chief.
Must provide your own snowmobile.

Camp cooks - Bring out your inner chef!  Camp cooks provide meals for teams and race staff in checkpoints.  Primitive kitchen facilities and odd hours are the norm.

Parking - Parking attendants make sure everyone is able to park safely and in the appropriate area.  They are the first face of the race that spectators will see so be prepared to be the first information booth as well (don't worry, we provide the information you need).  Hospitality staff will have the most detailed information.

Hospitality - Provide race information to spectators at headquarters, encourage spectators to "FILL THE BOOT" for Chelan County Dist 9 Firefighters Association, invite spectators to warm up with hot cocoa or coffee, take home a souvenier, view educational material. "The face of the race".

Special Need - Banner Crew - A crew of 2 or 3 is need to place and move sponsor banners between race location and at the conclusion of the Cascade Quest, take them down and prepare them for storage.

Special Need - Sponsor Recognition Night - Calling all party planners! The Cascade Quest will hold a sponsor recognition event on Friday evening, Jan 28 to honor our sponsors without whose generous support the Cascade Quest would not hit the trail.  This will be a community event with dinner, an auction of winter-related items and activities and a sled dog program (TBA). Activities for children are also planned.  The basics will be in place; but we need individuals with an interest in event planning to help us with the details.  If you are a teen in need of community service credit for graduation and enjoy working with children, we need a Children's Activity Director for the evening.

Special Need - Winter Camping Village -  The Cascade Quest organizing committee would like to offer a winter camping experience (tent only) for spectators and volunteers.  This may include outdoor cooking and equipment demos, outdoor photography clinics with Cascade Quest photographers, winter survival skills workshops, etc. We have lots of ideas but need a dedicated group of outdoor enthusiasts to help us pull it off.  The Winter Camping Village will be Saturday/Saturday night/Sunday.

Positions are available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
